· Sexual Harassment -- This is a Learning Conference for all employees, not just supervisors and managers. The objectives are to Identify, Stop and Prevent all types of harassment and discrimination with an emphasis on sexual harassment. Through examples of specific behaviors the participants will learn what sexual harassment really is and how to keep it from entering their workplace. Participants will learn about the legal history of sexual harassment, how they could be personally liable and what the Supreme Court of the United States said in three rulings last year. · Team Development -- This Learning Conference centers around how teams are formed, what are the differences between “work groups” and “teams”, how do teams grow and develop, what are the stages of a team’s evolution, the role of communications and information in a team environment and is the team approach right for you? We will also deal with how the supervisor/manager’s role changes with the concept of work teams. What are quality circles, self-directed work teams and how do they work in both union and non-union environments. · Conflict Resolution -- This session can focus on either the individuals who are having conflict with others or the supervisor who has conflict among his or her employees. Points of discussion are: getting to the root cause, verbal and non-verbal communications, ground rules for the meeting, removing emotions from the discussion, where do we go from here?, cooling down periods as well as many others. This Learning Conference has application to both the work environment as well as the home environment. Go away from this session armed for success! · Communication Skills Workshops -- This series of workshops is designed to provide intermediate communication skills, which are beneficial to individuals who are in leadership or supervisory positions. This workshop is an interactive, fun filled workshop, which will combine lecture, video, and computerized presentations with individual and group exercises to aid the workshop participant in the growth and development of their communication skills. Expected outcomes include: an increased ability to take responsibility for effective communication, understanding the “communication model”, review and practice of the verbal, non-verbal and listening skills associated with effective communications, as well as how to break through the most common communication barriers. The participants will also be able to present their own objectives during the initial session. The workshop facilitator will assist the participant in meeting these individual objectives as the session progresses. · Interviewing Skills -- In this Learning Conference your supervisors, managers and anyone else involved in the hiring process will learn how to properly conduct an interview. When should the interview begin, preparation for the interview, legal versus illegal questions to ask, how to get the applicant to talk, how to get the applicant to quit talking! what to do after the interview and how to close the sale. Participants will come away with an understanding of terms such as: experiential questioning, structure panel interviewing, open/close-ended questions, reading the candidate, etc. · Valuing Diversity -- Did you know that by this year’s end experts project that there will be more women working in the US than men? Our work world has changed more rapidly than most people realize. What is diversity? We hear a lot about it today. How is it valuable to an organization? Don’t we already have diversity at our company? When can too much diversity backfire? These are just some of the questions that will be answered for your participants when they attend this Learning Conference on diversity. · Violence in the Workplace -- Why does it occur? How can we prevent it? What should our policy include? What is the profile of a violent employee? What symptoms should we look for? What do we do after it has occurred? Who is most susceptible to violence in the workplace? These are just some of the questions that will be answered for your participants when they attend this Learning Conference on violence in the workplace. · Conducting a Proper Investigation -- Whether it is sexual harassment, rule violations, safety violations, stealing of company property or other similar situations; they all have to be investigated. This Learning Conference will help those who are conducting the investigation answer these (as well as other) questions: When do you go with a verbal versus written statement? How do you decide whom to interview? What about the promise to keep the investigation confidential? What are the rights of those involved? When should you tape record the interview? How many should be present during the interview? · Time Management -- One of the toughest things for all of us to do is to manage our time. In today’s fast paced world of cell/digital phones, e-mail, fax and all of the other tools we have, we still have to manage our time. In this Learning Conference, we will be looking at the “Post-It Note Junky”, “The Yes Person”, “The Unorganized Individual” as well as others. You will walk away from this conference knowing what you need to do to better manage your time. And since we all know time is money, you will be on your path to becoming wealthier! · Delegation Skills -- Why don’t our workers do what we tell them to do? We will answer that question and many others for you in this fast paced workshop. Participants will find out how to match the assignment with the person that has the right skills. In this day and age of low unemployment and desired job growth and enrichment, these are common questions employers are faced with. This learning conference will help the employees of your company or organization, learn about taking responsibility for their own career development. They will learn about your internal posting procedures, how to build their portfolio, the art of networking within an organization and how to properly apply for open positions. Additionally, they will develop their own list of skills and career interests to aid them in their development. All of our Learning Conferences include handouts, video and/or PowerPoint presentations, role-playing situations, group discussions, and breakout sessions as well as lecture.
