Discrimination Claims

Any employee that is in a protected class can, with virtually no expense to themselves, go to the local EEOC or state agency office and file a discrimination charge against your company. As a result of their filing this claim, you will receive a charge of discrimination to which you will have to respond stating your company’s position. This "Position Statement" is something that many firms have an attorney file for them. This is not necessary. One of our experts can conduct the investigation and recap the company’s position in response to the claim without the involvement of any attorneys. The company response will never be filed without the review and approval of the company!

Whether the claim filed against you is sexual harassment, race, age, or a sex discrimination charge, the key is to investigate and plan your response thoroughly. We have experts available with a strong history of winning these type of claims, with a limited cost to the company. Remember, the vast majority of these types of claims (over 90%), when handled properly, are found to be "No Probable Cause". Before you try to respond to a charge yourself or send the complaint out to your legal counsel, give us a call and let us tell you what we can do for your company.

Legal/Regulatory Audits

At Sterling Consulting Services we can provide you with compliance audits to see how well your company, or locations, are doing in complying with such things as: I-9 record keeping, timecard and overtime payments and records, internal policy and procedures in the area of Human Resources, COBRA notices, as well as others. Remember -- an ounce of prevention is a pound of cure! It may help you in a real audit by the government to have had an outside, independent company conduct an audit of your compliance.

Your company will receive a detailed audit analysis which will identify any deficiencies and what should be done to correct them. Additionally, there will be a "general comments" section for an overall analysis of your company’s compliance issues and what actions that we would recommend be taken. We can also provide educational seminars on compliance issues for your supervisors and managers.
